Aston Martin was one of the big surprises of the 2023 Formula One season. The highly experienced Fernando Alonso took full advantage of the team’s competitive start, scoring eight podiums and delivering his best season since 2013. The double world champion finished fourth in the drivers' standings that year.
However, 2024 was far less fruitful for Aston Martin. The team's performance dropped significantly, and Alonso scored only about a third of his previous year’s points. Despite the downturn, Alonso remains determined and focused on the future.
While 2025 may not yet bring a fully competitive car, all eyes are on 2026—when new regulations arrive and legendary engineer Adrian Newey is expected to play a key role in the team’s technical direction. For Alonso and Aston Martin, the long game might finally pay off.
